Today, I want to share my journey of studying for and passing the Network+ (N10-008) exam. The N10-008 is the latest iteration of the Network+ certification, which was released just a few months ago. It was so new that I had to pre-order the study materials and patiently wait for them to arrive at my doorstep before I could begin preparing for the exam.

Now, let's dive into the study materials I used to prepare for the N10-008 exam.

Study Materials

Exam Objectives: Before anything else, I downloaded the exam objectives from CompTIA's website. This step is crucial as it outlines exactly what you need to know for the exam. It helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses, making it easier to structure your study plan accordingly.

N10-008 Book: The core of my study materials was the N10-008 book. Since the exam was new, I had to wait for the book to become available. This 500-page book was comprehensive and followed the exam objectives closely. I dedicated at least an hour every day to reading it. During slower periods (like the holiday season), I managed to read more. The book included practice questions at the end of each chapter, which was immensely helpful in reinforcing my knowledge.

Professor Messer's N10-008 Study Guide: For added depth and clarity, I invested in Professor Messer's N10-008 study guide. Professor Messer has a knack for breaking down complex topics and aligning them with exam objectives. His study guide acted as a brilliant complement to my book, summarizing key concepts and making the material more accessible. I highly recommend this resource.

Video Materials

ITProTV: I personally used ITProTV's video series for the N10-008. ITProTV's content was well-organized, and they were quick to release materials for the new exam. The video series covered all the exam objectives comprehensively.

Jason Dion's Video Series: Jason Dion also offers a great video series for the Network+. While I didn't use his N10-008 series specifically, I've had a positive experience with his courses in the past. If you're looking for a cost-effective alternative, his materials are worth considering.

Professor Messer's YouTube Videos: Professor Messer provides free video content on YouTube, covering various IT certifications. His N10-008 series is highly regarded and, best of all, it's free. It's an excellent resource for those on a budget.

Practice Tests

Practice tests are essential for gauging your readiness and identifying areas that require further study. I used a combination of practice tests to prepare for the N10-008:

Book Practice Questions: The N10-008 book I mentioned earlier included practice questions both within chapters and a separate set of 200 questions. These were invaluable in assessing my knowledge and understanding of the material.

ITProTV Practice Tests: ITProTV provided around 400 practice questions, which were incredibly useful. What sets them apart is their detailed explanations for both correct and incorrect answers. Understanding why an answer is right or wrong is crucial.

Professor Messer's Practice Tests: Professor Messer also offers practice tests on his website. While I didn't personally use them for the N10-008, I've found his practice tests to be of high quality in the past. They are reasonably priced and can be a valuable addition to your study plan.

In total, I worked through approximately 500 practice questions from these sources, thoroughly evaluating my knowledge and filling in the gaps.

Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope you found my study approach helpful. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out
